So you build a microscope out of a Smartphone
Smartphones can do a lot of pretty. In addition, there are numerous technical extensions, Apps, and Gadgets - in particular for the camera. With a simple Trick you can use your mobile phone as a microscope. In addition to a water-protected Smartphone or Tablet with a front camera, you only need a drop of water.
- You place the device horizontally on the table. The Front shows up. You place a drop of water directly on the lens of the front camera. The drops of water you can capture either with the tip of your finger, a straw or a rolled up piece of paper and drop.
- The drops should cover the lens completely, so that the camera lens is centered under the drop. Turn on the Smartphone or Tablet and activate the front camera.
- Hold the object over the front camera and just above the drop of water. You can see the object, considerably enlarged on the screen and can take pictures if needed.
- The drop of water serves as a second lens. Objects which would otherwise appear due to the close proximity to the camera lens out of focus, this second lens.
- Alternatively, you can use a microscope with an App. The App "magnifying glass + microscope" can be found in the Playstore, you can be installed free of charge. The App actually shows a greatly enlarged image. Every little movement of the subject is blurred are. Generally, there is a clearly visible image noise.
