GMail: mark All messages as read, not as

To mark all messages in Google Mail (Gmail) as read, is not so easy. That's why we show you in this practice tip, how you do it.

Gmail: mark All messages as read

If you want several or mark all E-Mails as read, then you must perform the following steps:
  • Start Google Mail , and stay on the "main page". This is the page that shows you all your incoming E-Mails.
  • On the "General" tab there are three Buttons (see Screenshot).
  • Now press on "More" and select "mark All as read".
  • Note: This action applies only to all messages within the open Tabs.
  • Alternatively, you can also ALL in the mailbox located in the mail mark as read: Click on the home page, click "More messages". If you then select all the messages, you will be asked if you want to apply the selection to all the mailbox messages. Confirm the question, so that all message are marked as read.

Undo: All the messages as unread.

Just as you have your messages now marked as read, the unread messages:
  • Click on the Left of the three Buttons ("Select").
  • Select "All" to select every message in the Inbox. Simply remove the checkmark next to a message, so that it is not selected.
  • Now press again on "More" and then tap "mark As unread". Now all the messages are marked as unread.
