In Firefox you can change the website that appears as soon as you open a new Tab. We will show you how you can set a new default site, a blank page or a search box in the new Tab view.

1. Standard web page as a New Tab in Firefox

By default, you will see in Firefox for the nine most recently visited pages when you open a new Tab. This allows you to replace up to Version 41.0.0 the following through a standard website. In newer versions of Firefox will only function in a tip 2 and 3.
  1. Type in the address line of Firefox with the command "about:config" one. If necessary, confirm that you will be careful.
  2. Tap in the search browser bar".newtab.url".

2. Blank page as new Firefox Tab

  1. You open a new Tab in the Firefox Browser.
  2. Top right, click on the tile icon "page for new Tab hide".
  3. No Symbol is there you can set up as below, is also a Standard described in a page, you simply type nothing in the input field.
  4. From Firefox 41.0.1 click on the new Tab on the Gear at the top right and select "show Blank page".

3. Default search engine as a new Tab in Firefox

You can also set up a page as a new Tab that contains an input box of your default search engine. The easiest way to do it, if you delete your history, and create any new ones. In the gallery we show you but also how you for the default search engine to a user-defined timeline as the new Tab setting.
  1. You will navigate through "menu >" settings " > " privacy "open" to the "chronicle"
  2. Set the Option "never create".
  3. Finally, click on "recently created timeline... delete" and remove here "Visited pages & Download history".
  4. Restart Firefox, you will only see a box of your search engine in a new Tab.
