Sender-IP address of an anonymous E-Mail find
The Online Service Tool WhatIsMyIPAdress.com allows you to, in addition to an IP reverse search, the scanning of mail on the sender's IP address. You will then receive the IP address and the approximate location of the sender PC. The following steps are necessary:
- First of all, you need the Header of the Mail - for this you need to show the email as the source text.
- In the case of Gmail you do this by clicking on the Options arrow in the top right of an E-Mail. In the case of other E-Mail providers, this works in a similar way, usually via an "options"Button at the edge of the Mail.
- Now click on "show Original".
- The complete source code is displayed. However, you need only the Header which is located in the upper part of the Mail.
- The Header, the copy, starts right at the beginning of your Mail and stop there, where the Readable stops. That is, just before a huge Block of Numbers and letter codes (see image).
- The copied source code you must insert in the box under the "Trace Email Analyzer" and click the "Get Source" button.
- Now you get under the "Analysis" of various information, which could capture the Tool from the source text, among other things, the IP address of the sender, which is highlighted in blue.
- Under the results of the analysis; the IP address and your approximate location on a map. In our Tests, all the Scans have to work and correct results to be delivered.

As you have already noted above, there is only the possibility to make the IP address, and thus the approximate location of the sender to locate. For data protection reasons it is not allowed and is also possible only with difficulty, the name or the exact address of a sender to identify. If you are cheated, however, are threatened or are attacked, you should state your case to the police. This will determine the template of a criminal Offence, the exact sender of an anonymous E-Mail and, if necessary, take action against him.
