First of all, you need to the Homepage of Tumblr.com call and register:

To complete the registration process, you must open your Email in-box. There you will find a Mail with a Link to activate your Blog:

Simply click on the provided Link in the E-Mail.
Should you have no E-Mail, you can request at the top of your Blog-Overview a new Link.

In addition to your photo, you will see 7 different functions: Text, photo, quote, Link, Chat, Audio, and Video.
By clicking on the appropriate icons, you can write a Text, insert a photo or a Video.
With one click on your photo, you will get to your Blog and get an Overview of all post entries.
