Radio channel 2.4 GHz: Narrow Tempo-history
You have a normal Router, then this operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. It is only wrong once, nothing. However, this area is overloaded pretty: Here phones, Bluetooth devices, surveillance cameras, and other wireless LANs sparks.
- The noise sources allows you to expose with a Fritzbox quickly. Do this, go to the configuration page and select the item "wireless channel".
- In the Screenshot, you can see on which channels, how many foreign WLANs sparks (yellow). Grey indicates other sources of interference.
- Faster and less prone to interference channels with few sources of interference are.
- The default channel is 11, so a bad choice. In this example, you should prefer to use channels 7 or 8, because here there are no other radio networks, and comparatively little interference sources (marked in green).
- If you have no FritzBox, you can the radio channels with Smartphone Apps or programs to analyze.

Faster Wi-Fi a 5-GHz radio channel
With the new 5 GHz Band, the sources no longer overlap. Less Access cavort Points, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi not come in the way. In addition, the latest ac Wi-Fi routers with more new features:
- Beamforming: in this case, the Signal is not concentric, i.e., in a circle around the Router sent, but directly in the direction of the receiver. You have to imagine similar to a microwave radio or a satellite antenna. The Wi-Fi Signal is stronger.
- Also, the Modulation was greatly improved. The magic word is "256 QAM". This is already longer in the case of satellite Transmissions of the Standard. Thus, higher data rates are possible, since the radio channels are wider and faster.
