USB port: The meaning of the different colors

A USB port can have different colors. Generally speaking, there are blue, yellow, black and red connections. We clarify the meaning of the different colors.

The different colors mean from the USB port:

  • Black: Black USB ports are USB 2.0 standard ports. From this, you can USB safely all equipment (mouse, keyboard, old USB-Sticks). Note, however, that USB 3.0-compatible devices will not be able to take advantage of the full speed!
