Surface Type Cover is not recognized – what to do?
- Make sure that you have connected the Type Cover to the Tablet and the connectors are seated properly.
- In some cases, it may happen that the terminals are contaminated by dust and Dirt and the Type Cover is not detected.
- The solution is to remove all the dust and Grime by gently Blowing. You can also use a cotton swab or toothpick use.
- There may also be a Update for the Type Cover is available. You can verify this under "Windows Update".
- Try to load the driver again, turn off the Surface completely and wait a Minute. Then press and hold the [Power] and the [Loud] button for 15 seconds and then wait another 10 seconds. After that, you can switch the device on as usual.
- Alternatively, you could try a Soft Reset. Press and hold the [Power] Button and the [volume down] button pressed until the Tablet starts from alone.
- In the "system settings" under "Update" you will find the Option of "system refreshment". In most cases, this Option helps.
