Raspberry Pi Backup: creating a Backup
In order to secure the operating system and your data on the SD card, you need to create a Backup.
- You drive your Raspberry Pi with the command "sudo shutdown-h 0" to shutdown.
- Once your Raspberry Pi is shut down, you can disconnect it from the power and removing the SD card.
- Now, insert the SD card into your SD card reader and wait until it is available.
- Download the program Win32 Disk Imager , download and install it on your System.
- Start the Win32 Disk Imager.
- Select the path "Image File" to the location of the backup that you want to create.
- Under Device you need to select the drive letter of the SD card.
- With a click on "Read" will be created in your Backup.
- Finally, you can remove the SD card on the PC, back into your Raspberry Pi and insert it to the power connect.

If you want to play your backup copy of the operating system back again, you must do the following:
- Run as described above, the points 1 to 5.
- After this, select "Image File" of the Backup which you want to play back.
- Under Device you need to select the drive letter of the SD card.
- Click on the point "Write" the Image to the SD transfer card.
- Finally, you can remove the SD card on the PC, back into your Raspberry Pi and insert it with the power to connect. The Raspberry is now running again with the state of the Backups played.
