Processor clock readout - this is how it works

The processor clock of your computer can be read out either via Windows itself or a special program. We will tell you how you can do both variations need to proceed and which Option provides more accurate results.

Processor clock on the Task Manager reading

In the case of processors, manufacturers provide only the maximum clock rate. Your computer needed but rarely use the full Power of the CPU, which is why the stroke varies all the time. Using the Task Manager in Windows 10 you can read their current value:
  1. Press the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc] to open Task Manager. This Shortcut works in all versions of Windows.
  2. In the tab "performance" see the "speed" of your current processor's clock cycle.
  3. On the graph, you will also find an indication of your maximum processor clock.

Alternatively, processor clock reading by special Software

In a little more detail shows the Free Tool "CPU-Z" to the current processor cycle. In addition, you will receive a lot of information to the CPU, the graphics card and other built-in Hardware.
  1. Download the free program and run the Tool.
  2. In the tab "CPU" see you at the "Core Speed" to the current processor's clock cycle.
  3. Tip: in the selection field "Selection", you can switch between the individual cores of your processor. So you can see exactly which kernel is loaded.
