What is the difference between MP3 and Audio CD?
A CD usually has a memory capacity of 700 MB and takes up a maximum of 80 minutes of music.
- MP3-CD: This is a usual data CD. The music files can be easily burned in MP3 Format on the CD. On the CD up to 700 MB of music will fit. In the case of good quality, a Minute of playing time needs about 2 MB. On a MP3 CD roughly 350 minutes of music fit. At a lower quality even more.
- Audio-CD: In this variant, the CD is burned, as well as any common music CD out of the trade. Thus, only 74 to 80 minutes of music fit on an Audio CD, depending on the manufacturer. That's enough for about 20 songs.
- An MP3 CD sounds so much more advantageous: It will fit significantly more music on it and the Songs directly from the CD copied. MP3 CDs can only be created from MP3-compatible devices. This includes Computer and most newer playback devices. An Audio CD is required if you would like to listen to your music in an older CD Player or car stereo. But here, too, an MP3 is always supported common CD-ROM.
