Kindle flickers: Not a hardware error
The "Flickering" is not a Software or hardware error. It is even desired:
- The built-in Display usually changes every time a page is exchange only the most necessary pixels to save battery power and quickly switch to the page.
- However, if two pages are very different, or some of the pixels on the first attempt, change, displays the Kindle for a short Moment, a completely black image. As a result, you perceive a Flicker.
- It's all image points 'back' and the next page can be displayed.
- In addition, is prevented by the so-called "Ghosting": If the Reset of the display is turned off, can between the lines the age of the Text "shines through". By the Flickering this is prevented, however.
Kindle reduce's Flickering
If you don't mind the Flicker too much, you can reduce it but at least. Turn off completely is not, however, and even with any Ereader Ink Display is possible.
- You start your Kindle and go to the main menu.
- You can open by pressing the menu button the settings.
- Go to the fourth page and scroll to the item "refresh page".
- This Option you need to disable now.
- Now the Kindle will reset its Display only when it is really necessary. This usually happens every four to twelve pages. However, if the two sides differ too much (images or moved Text) is it flickering still in every page turn.
