Kelvin: the color temperature
The higher the Kelvin number and the color temperature is, the colder the human eye perceives the light. In the case of a low Kelvin number, the light appears to us, however, is significantly warmer. For Your Orientation:
- The old incandescent bulbs (100 Watt) have a fairly warm color temperature of approximately 2.800 Kelvin. An energy-saving lamp max. 2,700 Kelvin have a similar warm light.
- Lamps with a colour temperature between 3,000 and 5,000 Kelvin radiate a more neutral light, similar to an average fluorescent tube.
- Similar to cooling, such as natural light, a color temperature of over 5,000 Kelvin.
