D-Link: Router - a manual

Before you can go on the Internet, you need to set up your D-Link Router correctly. In this tutorial we will show you how exactly to proceed.

D-Link: how to set up your Router correctly

First, you connect the Router to the mains power supply. Then you take the following steps:
  1. Then plug in the blue cable into the "Internet"port on the Router, and the other end to connect to the "Internet"port on your modem.
  2. For initial setup we recommend that you connect the PC via LAN with the D-Link Router.
  3. Wait until the Router and the Modem is fully started and you open your Internet browser. Enter "192.168.0.1.".
  4. As user name enter "admin" and leave the password field empty. Then click "Login" to the Router set up.
  5. The Setup wizard will guide you through the process. First, select "Internet" and type in your access data that you received from the Provider.
  6. In the next step, it goes to the security settings of the WLAN. Here you can specify a name and a password for the network. Save with "Connect".
  7. If all data are correct, is to set up the Router after a short period of time and you can start Browsing.
  8. For safety, you should specify under "Tools" > "Admin", the Admin password for the Router.
