Shogun 2 does not start - General information
- First, you should ensure that your PC has the requirements for Total war: Shogun 2 is fulfilled. You need at least a 2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor or a 2.6 GHz fast Intel Single Core processor, or AMD equivalent (with SSE2), 1 GB RAM (XP), 2 GB RAM (Vista or newer), DirectX 9.0 c compatible graphics card with 256 MB of RAM and 32 GB of free hard disk space. In addition, it must be your screen resolution is 1024 x 768 or higher.
- Install the latest drivers for your video card. We explain them in separate practice tips on how to make a nVidia-drivers and ATI-Radeon graphics card driver update.
- Remove all Mods you may have installed for the game.
- If you are using a pair of 3D glasses on your PC, plug this test from the PC and uninstall the associated drivers.

Shogun 2 game files, check for errors
You can check with the Steam-Client, the downloaded game data on error:
- Open the Steam Client. Click in the game list with the right mouse button on the entry for "Total war: Shogun 2" and select "properties".
- Go to the Tab "Local files". There you have to click on the Button "game files on error check...". Wait until the process is absgeschlossen and eventually corrupt the files were re-downloaded. Then try again to start the game.

Shogun 2 - Missing system components to set up
Thus, Total war: Shogun 2 starts, you need to on your System DirectX 9 or higher and Visual C++ to be installed. These components should be missing, you will need to install. To do this, run these files you will find in the game directory. Then restart your computer:
