PS4-creating a Backup on external hard drive
The PlayStation 4 allows you to back up your data on an external hard drive as Backup and restore.
- First, open the system settings of the PlayStation 4.
- Select the menu point "Save System" and then the Option "and restore".
- Plug in your USB device and select the Option "PS4 back up".
- You will now be informed that all of the settings, save data, Screenshots, Videos, Patches, and Download backed up data. Trophies will not be backed up, which is why you should first synchronize.
- The next screen shows how big your Backup will be. You can skip the install data of Games. However, you need to download the games, in this case, again, if you upload your Backup.
- The Backup process begins and may take a while depending on the amount of data some of the time.
- If you want to restore your Backup later on again, select in the same menu the Option "PS4 restore".
- If your USB device is plugged in, the PS4, the Backup automatically and can restore it. Alternatively, you can delete it with the Option "backup data" from your USB device.
