PS4: Backup to external hard drive - how to

Since the Firmware Update 2.50, you can create an external hard drive to Backup your data to the PlayStation 4. We will explain you and show you how you and then your Backup can restore data on the PS4 again.

PS4-creating a Backup on external hard drive

The PlayStation 4 allows you to back up your data on an external hard drive as Backup and restore.
  1. First, open the system settings of the PlayStation 4.
  2. Select the menu point "Save System" and then the Option "and restore".
  3. Plug in your USB device and select the Option "PS4 back up".
  4. You will now be informed that all of the settings, save data, Screenshots, Videos, Patches, and Download backed up data. Trophies will not be backed up, which is why you should first synchronize.
