A new Play Store account (Google account) to create:
You do not have an account with Google (e.g. Gmail), you need to create it first. This can be either on the Website of Google (only on the "Log in" button and then on the "Register"), or directly on your Android Smartphone. If you are using the Smartphone for the first Time, should start the configuration wizard automatically. Otherwise, proceed as follows:
- On your Smartphone, open the App Drawer (list of installed Apps) and select "settings".
- Select the "accounts & sync" and then "add account" at the bottom of the screen.
- As the account type, select "Google". You will be asked whether you want to add an existing account or create a new one like. Click on "New".
- Now enter your first and last name in the appropriate fields. Then select "Next".
- Enter your desired E-Mail address. You can select only the part before the @sign free. Then, tap "Next".
- Now select a password for your new account. This must be at least eight characters in length. In the second input field repeat password.
- To enter an existing E-Mail address, to which you have access. Also, choose a security question and enter the answer in the related field.
- You will now be asked if you want to, in addition to Google+ sign in. If you don't want to, you can skip this step by using the "Not now".
- In the last step, you can activate the web history for your account. This function adjusts search results based on your searches and visited Websites. If you do not want this, remove the appropriate check mark. Touch the "I agree" to the terms of use and privacy policy of Google to agree to.
A Google account create
An existing Play Store account (Google account) set up:
You already have a Google Account, you do not need a separate account for the Play Store more to set up. You can then simply use the existing account:
- On your Smartphone, open the App Drawer and select "settings".
- Select the "accounts & sync" and then "add account" at the bottom of the screen.
- As the account type, select "Google". You will be asked whether you want to add an existing account or create a new one like. Select "Existing".
- In the two input fields, enter now as the E-Mail address and the password of your Google account. Select "Login".
- You will now be asked if you want to secure your phone through your Google account. If you do not want this, remove the check mark. Then, select "Next".
With the Google account sign up
For this practice tip, a Smartphone with Android 4.0.4 was used. In other versions of Android, the steps may differ slightly from these instructions. The procedure should be similar.
