Photos via SD-card copy on the PC - the easiest way
Anyone who has a Smartphone with a Micro-SD Slot, which can make it particularly easy to:
- Turn off your phone and remove the Micro-SD card.
- Insert this in the (usually supplied) SD Adapter.
- This, in turn, readers of your PC in the map - via Autoplay, you will be taken to the respective folder that contains your images. This is usually called "DCIM".
Transfer photos by cable
Android Smartphones can also connect via data cable to the USB Port of your Computer.
- On the Android Smartphone, a Pop-Up menu, select the Option "drive"/"hard drive" (wording varies by manufacturer).
- Shortly thereafter, the folder with all contained files will appear on the PC via the Autoplay again. You're looking the "DCIM" folder, and you can have fun with simple Copy&Paste.
Detour via Samsung Kies
Anyone who owns an older Samsung phone that often has no direct access via the Explorer. Here a small detour through Samsung's Software "Kies" here:
- Launch the Kies Software.
- Connect your Smartphone via USB.
- After a short loading phase on the left in the gravel appears to be a sub - menu, select the item "photos".
- Select the desired images with the left mouse button, a right click opens a Pop-Up menu. Here you can choose to save the photos on the PC.

Transfer photos from iPhone to PC
By the way: Apple now has a very nice solution for Copying photos created - you are an exception, not on the Software "iTunes" to depend on.
- Connect your iPhone via USB to the Computer.
- Open Explorer, under "Portable devices" or "Computer" you will find your phone and select it.
- In the appearing sub-menu there is only one folder - the first level is "DCIM". Click here and you will be directed to your collection of images.
- Here you can copy as usual, selected files, or the same cut, and on your external hard drive.
