Huawei Smartphones: EMUI disable - how it works

Huawei sets with EMUI on a slightly modified Version of Android. In this practical tip we will show you what options you have to disable EMUI or look different.

EMUI disable: alternative Android replace

EMUI (Emotion UI) is an operating system based on Android, however, look slightly different. On Huawei devices in the System already since 2012 in the use. Use another Launcher

If the appearance of the EMUI system is the biggest Problem for you, and you would like to have a different user interface, so you can grab instead of a Launcher. The Nova Launcher is one of the most successful representatives among them, and allows many changes to the appearance. A Launcher is much easier to install than a Custom-ROM, and you don't have to worry about a loss of warranty.

  • Custom Icons: if the pre-installed Icon Set or an icon for a certain App, don't like, so you can change them.
  • Other interface: native EMUI you have two options: Either all the Apps in the "Standard" mode is displayed. So all Apps appear on the Homescreen and can be sorted in folders. Or select the "Drawer" mode, where all Apps are listed alphabetically with no folder sorting.
  • Gestures: With a lot of Launchers you can use Gestures to save. So you can, for example, open with a double-tap a particular App, by Swiping the flashlight, or, in certain content to show and hide. The possibilities are endless.
  • Other: With a Launcher you can add more options to allow, for example, the App-Overview of all the Apps neatly sorted into folders and the Homescreen for main Apps available remains. Other Launcher also allow an imitation of other operating systems such as iOS.
