Android: Google Play Store error 491 - what to do?

The Google Play Store error 491 occurs again and again in the case of Android users. The error can, however, be relatively easy to fix.

If the Google Play Store error 491, occurs, first delete your Google account from your device and register a new one. To do this, open the settings.
  1. Select your Account under the "accounts" and tap on "remove account". If you have configured more than one Google account on your device, make sure that you select the correct account.
  2. Then, log in with the deleted account on your phone.
  3. Now select in the settings the menu item "Apps" and tap on the Google Play Store App.
  4. Select "clear data" and "empty the Cache". Perform this step in addition to the "Google services Framework" and the "Download Manager".
  5. Start to the completion of the process, your Android Phone is new.

Should you have further problems with your phone, it often helps to Reset to the factory settings. Previously you should, however, a complete System Backup.
