Blocking calls and SMS: transfer contacts to blocked list to add

Most manufacturers towers with bring in their own contacts App to add a function to Block certain calls. To stop calls from unwanted numbers. We will show you an example of a Samsung device, how it works.

  1. Go to the contacts App and scroll to the contact you want to block.
  2. Long press on the name, so that the context menu opens.

Alternatives to contacts App

In some models such as the Nexus 5, there are no revocation lists feature in the contacts App. Here, however, various Apps can provide a remedy.

  • So you block, for example, with the Free App "Calls Blacklist" not only calls but also SMS.
  • A useful Free application "SMS and Call Blocker Plugin". Incoming SMS messages are not lost, but can be secretly viewed.
  • We also recommend the Free App "Call Blocker", with the reverse scenario, using a "Whitelist" and only certain types of calls to allow.

Redirection on the Mailbox

A simple method with virtually any manufacturer's attachment is possible, is the forwarding on the Mailbox. It's not worth it but only if you use your Mailbox anyway-otherwise you will be faced each time you call with a notification. The caller is redirected to Voicemail, listen in to an unused Mailbox, so only the Busy tone and can't leave a message.

  1. Select the desired contact.
  2. You can open the corresponding settings.
  3. You put the hook behind "All calls to Voicemail" in the Checkbox.

Tested on Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.1.2 and Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.2.
