Android & iPhone: No network abroad – what to do?

Your Android Smartphone or iPhone abroad, finds no network, it may be on the cellular network, your mobile service provider or your Smartphone. We will show you how you can solve the Problem quickly and surfing.

No network abroad: network operator to choose

Most mobile service providers are only in one or a few countries. You are abroad, you can use the Partner networks of the provider. Depending on the Tariff (contract or Prepaid) will be used in some cases, other networks, so the selection must be manually made:
  • iPhone: Open the "settings"App and select the category "network operators". Disable the Option "Automatically" and wait till the available networks are displayed. This process can take a few minutes. Try then all available networks.
  • Android: Open "settings" and select the category "Wireless and networks" and "Mobile networks" off. You can here search for available networks and try all the networks showed.

Foreign lock with the mobile provider to disable

  • Some providers set for their customers depending on the contract, an automatic lock for abroad. This rule, however, easily cancel.
  • Simply call the Hotline of your mobile provider and request the activation. Here you will find the contact options for Vodafone, O2, E-Plus and T-Mobile.
  • Some Rates abroad seems to be lock to be apparently from the beginning enabled. In General, this decision was not taken by the customer.
