Amazon Alexa: As standard wizard - how to

Instead of the Google Assistant, you can now configure Amazon's Alexa as the default assistant on Android devices. We will show you how to do it.

Alexa you can only use Android as the default assistant. On the iPhone and iPad, Siri will probably be to swap never by Alexa. In order for the instructions to work, you need the latest Version of the Alexa App.
  1. Open the "settings"App on your Smartphone and select the category "Apps" or "applications & notifications".
  2. Go here to the "default Apps". In part, the category is hidden again in the "settings".
  3. In "wizard & voice input" you can now select not only "Google", but also "Amazon Alexa".
  4. Then, you can use Alexa instead of Google Assistant as an assistant language use.

Alexa on the Smartphone: not Yet perfect

  • You have activated Alexa as a standard wizard, you need to hold the Home Button for a short time pressed. Then, the voice starts the wizard, and proposes, in parallel with possible commands.
  • Unfortunately, you can't activate Alexa by acclamation. Functions such as "Hey Google" so far still the Google Assistant reserved.
  • The Google Assistant is not gone, by the way. In the Search Widget and the Google Now page, you reach the wizard, still on the microphone icon.
