Windows-7-Explorer, reset and volume icon to reactivate
If that doesn't help, there may be a fault in your Windows Explorer and then bring it back simple as follows:
- You can open the Task Manager of Windows 7 with [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Esc].
- On the tab "processes", scroll up to "explorer.exe" and to end the process via the correspondent Button.
- Then go back to the "applications" tab and click "New Task".
- In the following dialog window, enter Open "explorer.exe" in the line "a" and confirm with OK. Note: you need Administrator-rights.
- The Windows 7 Explorer will now be restarted and in the task also, the volume bar should now icon to the right below is displayed.
