Windows 7: Can I delete the file hiberfil.sys ?

"Hiberfil.sys" is in Windows 7, hibernation is necessary, which is why this system file can't delete. The "hiberfil.sys" used space you can still use.

The system file "hiberfil.sys" do not delete, but disable

The file "hiberfil.sys" disable the following:
  1. Click on "Start" and type in the search box "search programs and files" the Text "cmd".
  2. Click with a right click on "cmd.exe" and select in the context menu "run As Administrator".
  3. Type in the console (Windows Command Processor) the Text "powercfg-h off". Then press "Enter"
  4. Among the options to shutdown the computer, you can now see that the mode "hibernate" has disappeared and you have more storage space.
Disable hibernation
You disable hibernation only if you have a large lack of storage space or if you don't use hibernation anyway. Both Windows 7 and Windows Vista, the file cannot be activated "hibberfil.sys" so, on and off. Can't delete this. The guide to Activate hibernate mode you can find here.
