In this practical tip we will explain what a Swap Partition is.

What is a Swap Partition?

Swap means exchange, among other things, also in this case, it is the exchange of data.
  • All active programs of the computer are stored in the memory, so the access is correspondingly fast.
  • You have opened, however, only little RAM in your Computer and too many programs, these will be outsourced in the so-called Swap-Partition on the disk. In Windows, the Swap is referred to Partition as a "swap file".
