VPN access allows you to set up under Ubuntu is quite easy. We will show you how to do this.

How it works: VPN access under Ubuntu

  1. You can open the console via the menu item "Tools".
  2. Install the packages "vpnc" and the "network-manager-vpc" using the command "sudo apt-get install vpnc network-manager-vpnc".
  3. If the "network-manager-vpnc" does not exist, so an Installation of "vpnc enough".
  4. Then switch to the "System" and "settings". Open the "network connections".
  5. Click in the tab "VPN" on the "Add"Button.
  6. From the next window, select "Cisco compatible VPN Client (vpnc)" that you just installed.
  7. Then, enter the data on the server, as well as their corresponding user name and the password. With a click on "Apply" the data will be saved.
  8. You start the System again. On the network icon in the top bar, you can then connect to the VPN.
