Thanks to our Free App: VLC media player control with the Smartphone remote
With the official VLC App, your Smartphone into a comprehensive remote control turn. So you can not only operate the media player, but also get information about the playing Video on your Smartphone. Before this you need to make some preparations:
- First download the Free App "VLC Remote Free" for iOS or Android download.
- The same time, you should Setup Helper from the manufacturer website on your PC or Mac to install. So you do not need to enter Ports or IP addresses. The Setup is done, all the necessary settings in a few seconds.
- Once the Installation is complete, you can start: Start the VLC-Mediaplayer on your Computer and connect your Smartphone to the same network.

Now some settings are missing in VLC itself, to allow access via a web browser:
- First, launch VLC on your Computer and select [tools] and then [settings].

- Type in "Lua HTTP" any password. Save the settings and restart the VLC media player then restart.
