Ubuntu: you use Google Drive - how to

You want to access in Ubuntu quickly and easily via the file Manager to Google Drive, you only need the right commands. We will show you how to set up the Cloud storage.

Instructions: Google Drive with Ubuntu use

Google Drive for Ubuntu does not have native Software to. In the Nautilus file Manager, you can integrate the Cloud storage, however with a few simple steps.

  1. First, open the Terminal by pressing the key combination [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [T].
  2. For the Installation, you need the Gnome-Online-Accounts. To do this, use the command "sudo apt install gnome-online-accounts" without the quotes.
  3. Then open the Gnome-Online-Accounts with the command "gnome-control-center online-accounts".
  4. Right click on "Google" and log in to your Google Account.
  5. Allow access via the Button "Allow". You may need to assign a new password for your keychain.
  6. At the top, click your Google Account and turn On the Option "files" to"".
  7. Your Google Drive folder, you can now find links in the file Manager. The files are all in the Cloud and not stored locally on the Computer.
