Photoshop: environment - adjust dark areas to emphasize
On a fairly bright image light rays do not come to the fore. Ideal for those effect shots are night. Also, daytime pictures can prepare you for the rays of light effect, by emphasizing the dark areas stronger. For a better idea of the steps you will find Screenshots in the image gallery.
- Open your image in Photoshop and create a new, empty layer.
- On the new layer you draw all the dark areas and the areas you want to darken it, in addition, with a large, soft brush of the foreground color Black.
- Change the layer mode from "Normal" to "Soft light".

- Probably the radiation cover, or areas in which you should actually not be visible. You can fix this Problem by "select layer -> layer mask -> Everything". The corresponding mask will appear in the layer view, in addition to the ellipse level. This is turned on, paint over them with a soft brush and black foreground color, the areas of the rays you do not want to get displayed.
- The rays are now actually finished. Of course, your imagination with regard to other options, there are no limits. For example, you can define additional levels of color effects for the radiation.
