Security warning in the Browser - the cause of The problem
- The error message refers to the TLS Protocol in conjunction with a Diffie-Hellmann key exchange.
- Actually, this Protocol is to ensure that your data is transferred securely.
- In certain constellations the System has, however, a decisive weakness. Attacker may be able to reduce with a Trick, the encryption strength of the method rapidly and, therefore, the actually encrypted data.
- Although the vulnerability has been known for a long time, have always changed, not all Server administrators on other types of encryption. Most of the Browser refuse the connection with the said error message.
- As a user, you can do so against the real Problem, nothing. You can, however, accept the insecure connection and still transfer data.
Insecure Workaround for Firefox
If you want to connect to, despite the safety risk associated with a Server, you can use for Firefox this Workaround:
- Start Firefox and type "about:config" in the address bar. You accept the security warning.
- Now copy the line "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes" in the search bar. Then two entries will appear (see Screenshot).
- You change the value of both entries by double clicking on "false".
- Then the connection should klapppen.
