Gimp-save images as a PNG so it goes

Since Version 2.8 Gimp stores its images by default, the in-house Format. We will show you how you can save the photos as a PNG file.

Gimp-images in the PNG Format export

XCF as the file format of the Gimp-images is called. But these photos that you can view with any other device or program. To save your images as PNG - or JPG-file, you need to go the other way:
  1. First, start up Gimp on your Computer and open the photo you want.
  2. Then click "file" > "Export as", to save the image. Alternatively, you can press the key combination [Ctrl] + [E].
  3. Now determine the location of the photos. They attach simply to the name of the image, the extension ".png" or ".jpg" to - depending on which file format you require (see image).
  4. Finally, click on "Export" to save the photo in the modified Format.
