Under OS X Mavericks you can't set your screen to turn off automatically. In our practice tip, you will learn how to do this exact procedure.

Automatic dimming of the Mac screen off

In the energy-saving settings, you can disable the automatic screen-dimming. The corresponding Option can be found as follows:
  1. Open system preferences in your Dock.
  2. Click on the menu item "save energy".
  3. Now you can slide under the "display sleep" Slider further to the right. So, your screen darkens until a later time.
  4. You can also see the check mark next to the Option "on battery power remove the Monitor easily darken". So your Monitor stays on the road always bright.
