Since 24.7.2014 registered Mac can test-users of the Beta Version of the upcoming new operating system, MacOS X Yosemite. You can still sign up for the Beta program. You don't have to be a developer registered Mac owners. We will show you how you can sign up for the Beta program.
Mac OS X Yosemite: the Apple ID for the Beta sign up
MacOS Yosemite promises to be a lot of news for Mac owners. You want to be one of the first to get Yosemite in the hands, you can sign up for the Beta Phase.
Go to the Apple set up for this purpose in Apple's OS X Beta page.
Click on the blue Button "Sign up".
Now enter your Apple ID and your Apple ID password. You should have no Apple ID, follow these instructions.
Then click on "Sign in".
Now you will see the Beta program Agreement. Here, you are recommended to install the Beta Software on production systems, but on a separate Mac. Then click on "Accept" if you agree.
Apple says thanks and then for signing up. This means the application for the Beta program worked. As soon as the Beta for OS X Yosemite is available for Download, you will be notified by E-Mail.
If you are interested, you should sign up fast, because registration is already for a long time. Apple limited the access to Download the pre-release version to the first Million applicants. It is rather surprising, why the user still can log on. Incidentally, you can update for your Mac OS X via the Terminal to find and install.
