The OS X notification center disable constantly
The notification center turn off in OS X Mountain Lion permanently, is a little bit of work required:
- In the Finder, select in the menu bar "Go" -> "Go to folder".
- Now enter in the search field in "/System/Library/CoreServices/" and then click [Open].
- Here you need to Use "notification center.app select". You hold the option key [alt] pressed and click once on the file name to rename the file (e.g., "message center-off.app").
- Now open a terminal window. To do this, click on the magnifying glass icon for Spotlight and type "terminal". Then click on the Option "Terminal".
- In the terminal window enter the command "killall notification center" and then press the [Enter] key. The notification center is now disabled.
The OS X notification disable Central only temporarily
You want to disable notification center temporarily, you can turn them off until 24:00 of the respective day. The following day, the message will be activated automatically again.
- Repeat the above steps 1 and 2.
- You hold the option key [alt] pressed and click on the notification center icon at the top right of the menu bar.
