Mac network connections according to the priority sort
The order of the network sort of connection according to the priority, proceed as follows:
- Open "system preferences" > "network" and click on the lock icon, the following settings unlock:
- Click on the small gear icon and select the Option "order of the services set ....".
- Drag-and-Drop the relevant services (Links) to the desired Position.
- Confirm with the [OK] button the Changes.
- Click on the [Apply] button.
- Finally, click again on the lock icon.
Mac network connections in changing environments according to the priority sort
You use your Mac in different locations, it may be helpful to one or more tailored environments, to create - for example, if you use your MacBook both at home and in the workplace. In your home network, you may want to use a static (fixed) IP address, in your work network, the IP address is assigned dynamically (via DHCP Server).
