To turn off the Mobile Backups
- You start the Terminal.
- Now enter the following command: "sudo tmutil disable local".
- You may be asked for your Administrator password. Enter it then.
- Finally, restart your Computer.
- If you change your mind later, you can turn the local Backups back: "sudo tmutil enable local".
To further save space you a by delete duplicate files.
