HDR - what is it?
HDR stands for "High Dynamic Range". This means that HDR images have a high dynamic range and a high contrast.
- It happens often that pictures are too dark, or is not of constant brightness. Details, often barely visible, sees only partially the dark areas of the image.
- HDR images have a uniform brightness, are often rich in contrast and also brighter. Details can be seen better.

HDR - how does it work?
An HDR image is, in the case of the iPhones from several - at least three images. The HDR function is activated, three or more images shot in a row. These images are then superimposed and merged together to one image. So an image that is evenly lit results. HDR images get by "Tone Mapping" a special color scheme.

The advantages of HDR are the following:
- Uniform illumination and brightness
- Higher Contrast
- Darker images are a bit brighter
- Camera shake can be corrected
