Assistive Touch: support aid for the iPhone

"Assistive Touch" is a clever Operation guide for iPhone, iPad and iPod. They replaced some of the Multitouch Gestures: With one tap you can give commands, which were previously available only with several fingers.

To enable "Assistive Touch"

  • Open the "settings" of your iPhone.
  • Select the tab "General" and go to the "accessibility".
  • Here you will find the "assistivetouch". You enable the feature and tap in "accessibility" the Home triple-click and "accessibility shortcut".
  • Here, select "Assistive Touch" to start the application in the future, with a triple click of the home button.

The most important commands of the "Assistive Touch"

In the settings you can program functions for the "Assistive Touch". Here are the main commands:
  • Behind "devices" to hide the volume and screen settings.
  • Zoom is saved under "favorites" Instead of with two fingers you can zoom with just one touch.
  • On the screen, you can swipe with "Gestures". You find it under "devices". Here you can choose between two, three, four, and five fingers to Swipe.

Own Assistive Touch Gestures

  • To create your own commands for the "Assistive Touch", open the "settings" of your iPhone.
  • Select "General" and tap "accessibility" to "Assistive Touch".
  • Here you will find the Button "create New gesture". First of all, you need to gesture, demonstrate and then designate.
  • Then you will find your command in the menu of the "Assistive Touch" under "favorites".
