The HomePod is Apple's first Smart Speaker. Via the control system Siri, with the speaker not working, voice can be easily set an alarm clock or a Timer. We will show how this works.

Alarm clock the Apple HomePod make

Using the voice assistant Siri in the HomePod, you can either set a new alarm create or of an existing alarm to enable. You Wake up the HomePod with "Hey Siri" on and then type the appropriate command:

  • For example, say: "set up an alarm clock to 6.30 PM". Siri then creates a new alarm for the specified time. If you want to, you can specify a name for the new alarm clock, for example, "work".
  • You say: "Activate my alarm clock at 6.00 clock" to an existing alarm clock to turn on. You can use multiple alarm clock, you can also say: "Activate all of the alarm clock".
  • According to this principle, you can perform various actions with their alarm clocks. The voice control Siri is not here, however, is too functional. Automatic retries you can configure as little about the voice control, such as the alarm sound. Here is hope that Apple can build on the functions in the future.

Apple HomePod: Timer set

A Timer or a Countdown, you can also use the HomePod. Also, Wake him up first with the command "Hey Siri".

  • You say: "place a Timer on for seven and a half minutes". Siri then confirms: "Your Timer is set to 7:30 minutes".
  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide a second, additional Timer. Siri will ask you, in this case, if you want to replace the existing Timer.
