Strato HiDrive as a network drive - so it goes

You do not want to use your Cloud storage from Strato HiDrive constantly in the Browser, you can add it as a network drive. We will show you how to do that.

Strato HiDrive and mount it as a network drive

  1. Press simultaneously the keys "Windows" and "E", so that the Explorer opens.
  2. You choose, depending on the Version of Windows on the left in the navigation bar, the "This PC" or "Computer".
  3. Click with the right mouse button on the point and select the context menu Option "connect network drive". Then a small window will open.
  4. First, select above any of the drive letters. Beneath it, you need to specify, depending on the type of connection a different path.
  5. Strato even recommends connecting via SMB with the path "\\smb.hidrive.strato.com\root", alternatively, you can use the Standard WebDAV in the path "https://webdav.hidrive.strato.com".
  6. Insert one of the two paths, and then click on the Button "Finish".
  7. Then, enter your user name and your password and check the Option "save credentials".
  8. With a click on "OK" Strato HiDrive integrated as a network drive in the Explorer and synchronize.
  9. Note: you can Use the SMB default, you need to disable, under certain circumstances, in your Router, the NetBIOS Filter or the Port 445 to unlock.
