1. Tolino depends: charging the battery
- The Tolino displays a still image, when the battery is empty.
- To charge the battery to ensure that it is not a discharged battery is causing the Problem.

2. Tolino turning it off and restarting
- Turn off your Sony Reader by pressing and holding the Power button for six seconds.
- Switch the device on again. Now it should work again as usual.
- There is the restart problem, you should set the Reader back.
3. Tolino hangs: Reader reset
- In addition to the Micro-USB port for Charging there is a small hole where the Reset button is attached. The Tolino Shine, you can find the Reset button under the flap at the power connection.
- Press the button in the hole using a straightened paper clip or similar object and hold it pressed down until the Reader turns off.
- Your Nook will automatically restart and should then work again. A simple Reset does not help, perform a Hard Reset.
4. Hard Reset the Amazon kindle
Note that Hard Reset will delete all content from your Reader and the settings will be reset.
- Hold the volume up and the power button for ten seconds. You should now see the Reboot screen.
- To enter Recovery Mode, hold the on/off button pressed for a short while.
- In the Menür select using the volume up and volume down buttons "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and confirm with the key.
- Confirm that you want to delete all data by pressing the on/Off button again.
- The Tolino to reboot, select "reboot system now".
