Laptop key repair: a guide
A broken key can have many causes. In the best case, has collected a lot of dust below the button that makes it easy to remove. Liquid is the cause, this Problem can be solved with a bit of luck also:
- Expansion: Take a small flathead screwdriver, tweezers, a knife, or a Nail file. Put one of these items to the left and another to the right of the button. Make sure that the subject is too far under the button, only the outer edge is raised. Pull carefully both items to the top, so that the button triggers.
- Cleaning: Is the key, you can clean the underside of a household or micro - fiber cloth. Where the button sits you can find in the middle a small button made of rubber. This should be cleaned very carefully.

Liquid has been spilled on the keyboard, you can repair the button hard. A specialized cleaning can also help:
- Cleaning: remove the button again and clean the button with water. Better yet, budget-alcohol from the pharmacy. Use chopsticks for this purpose, a watts, and very little liquid. Lift the small rocker switch that is located to the rubber knob around and clean the area.
- Spare parts: Is the key or one of the plastic/ rubber component is damaged, you will get spare parts cheap on Ebay. Include the interchangeable Parts for the key itself, as well as the round and square frame.
- Exchange Is more than just a key is damaged, the complete replacing the keyboard.
- Manufacturer: Remains the key continues to be broken, can usually only repair the manufacturer. A warranty case does not exist in the case of liquid damage, however.
