EPUB books on the Kindle to read - so it goes

Amazon's E-Book Reader support, actually the only books in the MOBI Format. You can read EPUBs on the Kindle. This requires only a free program. We will show you how it works.

EPUB books with Calibre to Kindle transfer

The free Software "Calibre" converts E-Books in a for the Kindle compatible Format and transfers it directly to the E-Book Reader. The program is there for Windows and Mac. Note: The procedure works only for E-Books without DRM, so without copy protection.
  1. Connect your Kindle to the Computer via USB.
  2. Install "Calibre", and open the program. The Software detects the connected Kindle automatically and displays it at the bottom.
  3. Drag the desired E-Book by Drag and Drop into the Calibre window, or use the Button "add books" and select the appropriate directory.
  4. Select the book that is to be converted and transferred, and click in the menu at the top to "on Reader to send". The book is then transmitted to the main memory of the Kindle.
  5. Disconnect the Kindle after Transferring from the PC. Either the new book is already visible, or you must start the E-Book Reader for the first time.
