Android: Apps manually-install - the preparations
For security reasons, you can install Android Apps by default, only via the Google Play Store. With the right settings and the appropriate installation packages for the programs and games can also be manually set:
- First of all open the settings on your Smartphone. In the category of "security and screen lock" select the point the the Installation of Apps from "unknown sources" or "uncertain origin" will be allowed. Depending on the Smartphone and Android Version, the menu items may vary slightly.
- For the Installation you will also need the appropriate installation file for the desired App. This should be available in the APK Format. In our Download-Center you find the APK-files to all the popular Android Tools.
- Install a free file Manager like "ES file Explorer". You later start the App Installation.

They have met all three requirements, you can install the desired App:
- Copy the downloaded APK file on your Smartphone and launch the ES file Explorer.
- You navigate in the App at the appropriate path to the installation file and tap on it.
- The subsequent warning, confirm with "Install".
- Wait until the installation process is complete. This can take a while depending on the size of the App a few seconds or minutes.
- Then, you can find the App for all other Apps in the settings or via the Shortcut on your Homescreen.
